Enter where you were on the salary schedule. For each year, this looks up what your step and column paid, and compares it with what the same step and column would pay if the schedule had gone up exactly as fast as prices.

Pay. The district's certificated salary schedules for teachers (183 work days), Columns I to VI. Printed schedules were used for 2004-05, 2005-06, 2007-08, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2018-19, 2019-20, 2021-22 and 2023-24.
Years with no printout (†). These were worked out from the raises printed on the schedules either side. 2006-07 is 2005-06 plus 3%. 2008-09 to 2010-11 match 2007-08, because the 2011-12 schedule is identical to it. 2014-15 is 2015-16 before its 4% raise. 2017-18 is 2016-17 plus 1%. 2020-21 matches 2019-20. 2022-23 is 2021-22 plus 6%. If you have those schedules, check them against the table.
Mid-year raises. The 2005-06 schedule took effect on February 1, 2006 and the 2016-17 schedule on January 1, 2017. This tool uses the printed schedule for the whole year, so pay in the first part of those two years was about 3% lower than shown.
2023-24 has two more work days. Its schedule is for 185 days (183+2). The annual figure is about 1.1% higher than it would be for 183 days. Tick the per-work-day box above to take that out.
Steps. Column I stops at Step 8 and Column II at Step 10, so pay stays at that step until you change column. After Step 15, pay changes only at Steps 20, 25 and 30.
Inflation. Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), all items, not seasonally adjusted, from the Bureau of Labor Statistics: U.S. city average (series CUUR0000SA0) or Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim (CUURS49ASA0). Each school year uses the average of July through June.
Not included. Stipends, extra-duty pay, one-time payments, benefits and deductions.
Unofficial. This is not a district or association document. Check anything important against your own pay records.
